Biography
Lydia Garnett is a director and photographer based in London. Their work centers on storytelling and exploring new queer narratives with a style that is authentic, effortless and playful.
Recently Lydia directed a documentary portrait of the Hackney Rebels basketball community commissioned as part of a global campaign for adidas.
In 2020 Lydia directed Lonely Cowgirl, a sexy, queer, lesbian music video for Trouble Wanted full of high drag and John Waters-style weirdness. Lonely Cowgirl won the LGBTQ+ Iris Community Prize and was nominated for 'Best Music Video' at Raindance, as well as 'Best Wardrobe / Styling' at the UKMVAs. It was selected by and shown at Leeds International Film Festival, for Berlin British Shorts and Fringe! Queer Film Festival in 2021.
